“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

— Matthew 16:24 (KJV)

What Happened at The Crossover

This year, we declared it as our Year of Transformation. A time to move from who we’ve been into who God is calling us to become.

And this weekend at The Crossover Youth Revival, something powerful happened. God showed up .He didn’t just touch the room. He transformed hearts.

The Crossover wasn’t just a theme. It was a moment. A moment where many of us felt the tug to leave behind what’s easy and step into a deeper walk with Jesus.

It was about moving from comfort to commitment.

It Starts With Denial

Jesus didn’t make it complicated, but He did make it clear. If we want to follow Him, we have to deny ourselves.

That’s not something we hear a lot these days. The world tells us to do whatever feels good. But Jesus invites us into something better. Something eternal.

At the revival, that message hit home. We can’t carry the cross and carry everything else too.

One by one, students began laying things down. Shame. Distraction. Sin. Comparison. Even good things that had taken God’s place.

There were tears, honest prayers, and deep worship. Not emotional hype, but real surrender.

Carrying the Cross

Jesus didn’t say to just deny ourselves. He told us to take up our cross.

That means we don’t just let go of the wrong things. We pick up the right ones. We embrace obedience. We live with boldness. We walk through the hard stuff, trusting that Jesus is worth it.

At The Crossover, we saw young people step into that kind of faith. Some forgave people they never thought they could. Some opened up about things they’d been hiding for years. Some felt the call of God to ministry or missions.

It wasn’t about being perfect. It was about being willing. Willing to carry the cross. Willing to follow Jesus. For real.

Following Jesus From Here On Out

On the last night of the revival, the room was full of praise. But it wasn’t just about what we felt. It was about what we chose.

We chose to follow Jesus. Not just at church. Not just when it’s easy. But every day. Every step.

Some of us crossed over from doubt to faith. Some from fear to freedom. Some from going through the motions to truly living for Christ.

This Is What Transformation Looks Like

The Crossover marked a shift. It was a decision to leave behind the old and step into something new.

This generation isn’t afraid to go all in. And as we keep walking through our Year of Transformation, we know one thing for sure:

There is no transformation without surrender. No true life without the cross. And no turning back once you’ve said yes to Jesus.
